Olive oil & prebiotics: a new dietary weapon against frailty?

NCT ID NCT05485402

Summary

This study tested whether a special diet could help control age-related muscle loss, known as sarcopenia. Researchers gave 39 elderly adults with sarcopenia either a special type of virgin olive oil, a prebiotic supplement, or both for 12 weeks, followed by 12 weeks of monitoring. The goal was to see if these foods could improve muscle mass, strength, and overall health markers.
