Summary

This study tested if adding a very low-carbohydrate diet to standard care could help lower blood pressure in lower-income African American adults. It involved 64 participants with high blood pressure or risk factors for heart disease. The main goal was to see if this specific dietary change was effective and practical for this community over 10 months.
