Mediterranean diet tested on breast milk in obese moms

NCT ID NCT03744429

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study looked at whether providing healthy, Mediterranean-style meals to obese mothers who are breastfeeding can change the fat content of their breast milk. 32 moms received these meals for 4 weeks, and researchers measured changes in their milk and their babies' growth. The goal was to understand how diet affects breast milk composition, not to treat a disease.
