First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study looked at whether warming up the lower back muscles with diathermy (a type of heat therapy) before using a special back-strengthening machine (ILEX) makes the training more effective. 25 healthy adults aged 18-30 completed a 9-week program. Researchers measured changes in strength, endurance, and muscle thickness. The goal was to understand if preheating helps improve results from resistance training.
