Massive study tracks 17,000 kidney patients to understand risky dialysis switches

NCT ID NCT07477210

Summary

This study aims to understand why many kidney patients on peritoneal dialysis (a home-based treatment) switch to hemodialysis (a clinic-based treatment), and what happens to their health afterwards. Researchers will analyze health records of 17,000 Canadian adults who started dialysis between 2005 and 2018. The goal is to identify patterns and risks to help improve future patient care and planning.
