Can shorter dialysis sessions still clean the blood effectively?
NCT ID NCT07348536
First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated May 14, 2026 · Updated 17 times
Summary
This study looks at how well different lengths of a newer type of dialysis (expanded hemodialysis) remove waste products from the blood compared to a standard high-volume method. Fifteen adults with end-stage kidney disease will try three different session times (180, 210, and 240 minutes) and one session of the standard method. Blood tests will measure toxin removal to help find the most effective and practical dialysis prescription.
