Can shorter dialysis sessions still clean the blood effectively?
NCT ID NCT07348536
First seen Jan 19, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 15 times
Summary
This study looks at two types of dialysis for people with advanced kidney disease: expanded hemodialysis (HDx) and high-volume online hemodiafiltration (HV-OL-HDF). The goal is to see if different lengths of HDx sessions remove waste products from the blood as well as the other method. Fifteen adults on regular dialysis will try three different HDx session times and one HV-OL-HDF session, with blood tests to measure waste removal.
