Race against time: does starting dialysis earlier save lives in septic shock?

NCT ID NCT01682590

Summary

This study aimed to find out if starting dialysis treatment early or waiting a bit longer leads to better survival for ICU patients with septic shock and sudden, severe kidney failure. It involved 500 critically ill adults and directly compared starting dialysis within 12 hours versus waiting 48-60 hours after diagnosis. The main goal was to see which timing approach resulted in more patients alive 90 days later.
