New dialysis filters aim to cut bleeding risk by ditching blood thinners

NCT ID NCT05117450

Summary

This study is testing two special dialysis filters designed to work without the need for standard blood-thinning medications. It involves 302 adults on long-term dialysis three times a week. The goal is to see if these filters can successfully complete dialysis sessions while reducing the risk of dangerous bleeding that comes with current blood thinner use.
