Hospital trial tests dialysis fluid change to protect Patients' hearts

NCT ID NCT05814146

Summary

This study is testing whether using a lower level of bicarbonate in dialysis fluid is safer for the heart during hospital stays. Researchers will compare two different bicarbonate levels in 141 adults who are on long-term dialysis and hospitalized. The goal is to see if the lower level reduces dangerous heart rhythm changes that can occur during dialysis treatment.
