Hunting the hidden cause of deadly surgery allergies

Summary
This study aims to improve how doctors diagnose and identify the specific triggers of severe allergic reactions that occur during surgery. Researchers will follow 115 patients who are suspected of having such a reaction, measuring a blood protein called tryptase and performing skin tests weeks later to pinpoint the allergen. The goal is to better understand these dangerous events so future surgeries can be made safer by avoiding known triggers.
