New antibiotic could fight tough diabetic foot infections

Summary
This study tests a new antibiotic called contezolid acefosamil (given by IV or mouth) against a standard antibiotic (linezolid) for treating moderate to severe diabetic foot infections. About 865 adults with diabetes and a foot infection that started in the last 14 days will take part. The goal is to see if the new drug works as well or better and has fewer side effects.
