New tool aims to stop diabetes before it starts in vulnerable group

NCT ID NCT07264062

Summary

This study is testing a new computer tool called MetSense. It alerts pharmacists when an adult with a serious mental illness (like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder) is at high risk for developing type 2 diabetes. The goal is to see if this alert helps pharmacists provide better preventive care, like ordering blood tests or coordinating with doctors, to stop diabetes before it develops.
