New study tests nutrition coaching to help black women control diabetes

Summary
This study looks at whether adding motivational interviewing to standard diabetes nutrition therapy helps African American women with type 2 diabetes improve blood sugar control and weight. About 291 women at risk for diabetes complications will take part in group nutrition sessions over 3 months, with some also receiving extra coaching. The goal is to find better ways to manage diabetes and prevent long-term health problems.
