NCT ID NCT05454176

First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 05, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study is testing whether a continuous glucose monitor (CGM) that shows blood sugar levels in real time can help children and young adults in Uganda with type 1 diabetes keep their blood sugar in a healthy range. Half of the 180 participants will use the CGM for 6 months, while the other half will use standard finger-stick tests. After 6 months, the groups switch. The study also looks at whether the CGM is cost-effective in a low-resource country.
