Summary
This study aimed to understand the connection between diabetes, gum disease, and changes in gum cells. Researchers examined gum cells from 95 adults with diabetes and different levels of gum disease to see if poor blood sugar control was linked to visible cell damage. The goal was to gather knowledge about how these two chronic conditions affect each other at a cellular level.
