First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 20 times
Summary
This study looks at whether adding a medication called Arestin (minocycline microspheres) to standard deep cleaning (scaling and root planing) can improve gum healing and blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes and gum disease. About 42 participants will receive either deep cleaning alone or deep cleaning plus Arestin. The goal is to see if the combination leads to better gum pocket closure and lower blood sugar levels.
