Diabetes drug put to the test: can it protect the heart?
NCT ID NCT07314684
Summary
This study is investigating whether adding the diabetes medication semaglutide to standard care can improve markers of inflammation and blood vessel health in people with type 2 diabetes who are at high risk for heart disease. It will involve 80 participants who do not yet have established heart disease. Researchers will measure specific blood markers and analyze existing heart scan data over one year to see if the drug provides benefits beyond standard diabetes management.
