First seen Apr 21, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looked at three different diabetes medicines (empagliflozin with metformin, sitagliptin with metformin, or metformin alone) in 186 adults who were newly diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and overweight. Over 12 weeks, researchers measured changes in blood markers, blood sugar, and body weight to see which treatment worked best. The goal was to find better ways to manage diabetes early on.
