Hormone supplement trial aims to help asthma patients

NCT ID NCT07179952

Summary

This study is testing whether a slow-release version of the hormone supplement DHEA can help adults with asthma who already use steroid inhalers. Researchers want to see if adding DHEA improves asthma control and is safe, since standard asthma steroids can lower the body's natural DHEA levels. About 30 participants will take either DHEA or a placebo for four weeks while researchers track their symptoms and lung function.
