Sweet relief? sugar injections tested for stubborn shoulder pain
NCT ID NCT04805242
Summary
This study tested whether injections of a sugar-water solution (dextrose prolotherapy) could reduce pain and improve movement in people with long-term rotator cuff shoulder problems. 60 patients who still had pain after standard treatments were randomly assigned to receive either the sugar-water injections or placebo saltwater injections, along with a home exercise program. Researchers measured changes in pain levels, shoulder function, and mobility over three months to see if the treatment helped.
