New approach aims to tame dangerous blood pressure spikes in thyroid surgery
NCT ID NCT07434206
Summary
This study is testing if adding a drug called dexmedetomidine helps keep blood pressure and heart rate more stable during surgery to remove active thyroid tumors. It will compare this drug to a standard blood pressure medication (labetalol) in 80 patients. The goal is to see if the new approach leads to fewer dangerous ups and downs in vital signs during and after the operation.
