Sedative's hidden effect on brain injury inflammation probed
NCT ID NCT07406555
Summary
This study looked at whether a sedative drug called dexmedetomidine reduces inflammation after brain surgery for traumatic injury. Researchers compared inflammation levels in 25 patients who received the drug during surgery with those who did not. The goal was to gather information on how this common anesthetic might help control the body's inflammatory response after a serious head injury.
