New combo may reduce steroid use for chemo side effects

NCT ID NCT06331520

First seen Apr 23, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether using less dexamethasone (a steroid) along with two other drugs (NEPA and olanzapine) can still prevent nausea and vomiting caused by strong chemotherapy. 644 adults receiving high-risk chemo took part. The goal was to see if the reduced-steroid approach works just as well as the standard full-dose regimen.
