Leukemia Drug's bone risk under the microscope
NCT ID NCT06367725
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study looks at how the steroid dexamethasone, used to treat childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, affects bone density and the nervous system. Researchers will measure drug levels in blood and spinal fluid, and track bone loss and nerve-related side effects. The goal is to find ways to reduce these side effects in the future.

What this could lead to
If successful, this study could help doctors understand how to adjust dexamethasone doses to reduce bone loss and nerve side effects in children with leukemia.
What could go wrong
This is an observational study, not a treatment trial, so it will not directly test a new therapy. Results may not lead to immediate changes in care.
