NCT ID NCT07052201
Summary
This study aims to find the safest and most effective steroid treatment to prevent a serious lung condition called bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in very premature infants. It will compare two different dosing schedules of the steroid dexamethasone in about 970 babies born extremely early who need help breathing from a ventilator. The goal is to see which treatment plan better helps babies survive and avoid long-term lung damage, while also checking for side effects and tracking development up to age two.
