Cancer symptom relief study tests common steroid

NCT ID NCT00489307

Summary

This study tested whether dexamethasone, a common steroid medication, could help control multiple symptoms in patients with advanced cancer. About 132 participants with solid tumors who were experiencing significant symptoms like fatigue, pain, and nausea took either dexamethasone or a placebo for two weeks, then all received the medication. Researchers measured changes in symptom severity through questionnaires and blood tests.
