First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated May 10, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This large study tested whether giving deworming pills to everyone in a community for three years can stop the spread of soil-transmitted worms, which infect over 1.5 billion people. Over 357,000 people in India, Malawi, and Benin took part. The goal was to see if community-wide treatment works better than only treating children, and if it can break the cycle of infection.
