First seen Apr 19, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested four methods to find early-stage cavities in children's back teeth. Fifty-one kids aged 6 to 14 had their teeth checked using visual inspection, a laser pen, and two light-based devices. The goal was to see which method works best for catching decay early, so dentists can treat it with less drilling.
