Heart surgery Drug's clotting secrets probed in new study

NCT ID NCT07179991

Summary

This study aims to better understand how a drug called desmopressin, which is often given to control bleeding, affects the blood's ability to clot during and after major heart surgery. Researchers will enroll 100 patients and use a special blood test (TEG6) to measure changes in platelet function at several key times. The goal is to gather detailed information that could help doctors use the drug more effectively to manage bleeding risks.
