New scan spots invisible tumors in Cushing's patients

NCT ID NCT04569591

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 28, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study aims to see if a PET scan after a drug called desmopressin can find tiny pituitary tumors in people with Cushing's disease that standard MRI scans miss. About 22 participants aged 8 and older with Cushing's disease and negative or unclear MRI results will receive the PET scan, then undergo surgery to confirm the tumor location. If successful, this approach could improve detection and surgical planning for hard-to-find tumors.
