Freeze-and-Drug combo tested for rare, aggressive tumors

NCT ID NCT05949099

Summary

This study is testing a two-part treatment to control desmoid tumors, which are non-cancerous but can be painful and damaging. Adults with a progressing or symptomatic tumor will take an oral drug (nirogacestat) for about 3 months, then undergo a single freezing procedure (cryoablation) to destroy most of the tumor, followed by more drug therapy for up to 2 years. The main goal is to see if this combination stops tumor growth or shrinks it for at least a year.
