Doctors watch and wait for rare tumors, treating only when needed

NCT ID NCT02547831

Summary

This study aimed to learn if a 'wait-and-see' approach is safe for patients with a rare, non-cancerous tumor called desmoid fibromatosis. It followed 100 patients with tumors outside the abdomen, treating them only if scans showed the tumor was growing. The goal was to see how many patients remained progression-free for three years and to understand which treatments were chosen when needed.
