First seen Jan 21, 2026 · Last updated May 30, 2026 · Updated 13 times

Summary

This study looked at whether having a dermatologist (skin doctor) see patients admitted to the hospital for cellulitis (a skin infection) within 24 hours could improve their care. About 246 adults took part, with some getting a dermatology consult and others receiving standard care from internal medicine doctors. The goal was to see if the consult reduced hospital stay length, readmissions, and antibiotic use.
