Researchers test adding second drug to common antidepressant

NCT ID NCT06500624

Summary

This study compared two treatment approaches for depression: taking the antidepressant escitalopram alone versus taking escitalopram plus an additional medication called pizotifen. Researchers enrolled 88 patients with depression to see if the combination worked better at reducing symptoms. They measured improvement using a standard depression questionnaire over the course of the study.
