First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 08, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study aims to see if two simple programs can help reduce depression in elderly women in India. Over 5,000 women aged 55 and older will receive either one-on-one talk therapy (CBT), group social activities, both, or neither. The programs are run by trained local volunteers. Researchers will check if the women feel less depressed and can do daily tasks more easily after the 12-week program and again six months later.
