This study is testing whether talking therapy (CBT) and group activities can reduce depression and improve daily life for elderly women in India. About 5,370 women aged 55 and older will take part. Some will receive home visits with counseling, some will join group activities, some will get both, and others will receive neither. The goal is to see if these simple, low-cost approaches can help improve mood and functioning.
