Cutting meds, not care: new approach tested in seniors
NCT ID NCT07599735
First seen May 26, 2026 · Last updated Jun 08, 2026 · Updated 2 times
Summary
This study tested whether a team-based plan to reduce anticholinergic medications (drugs that can cause confusion and falls) is practical and acceptable for hospitalized patients aged 65 and older. Twenty-one participants were enrolled, and researchers measured changes in medication use, daily function, and quality of life. The goal was to see if this approach could be used more widely to improve safety in older adults.
