First seen Nov 24, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 16 times

Summary

This study tested whether carving a specific area (the retro-molar pad) in lower dentures improves how satisfied and comfortable new denture wearers feel. Fifty adults who had never worn dentures before tried both a carved and a non-carved lower denture. Researchers measured satisfaction with eating, speaking, and taste, as well as overall quality of life, to see if the carving made a difference.
