Summary

This study aims to find the best drug combination to quickly reduce severe confusion and agitation (delirium) in hospitalized patients with advanced cancer who are receiving comfort-focused care. Researchers are comparing a standard drug (haloperidol) given with either a sedative (lorazepam) or a placebo to see which is more effective at calming patients over 8 hours. The goal is to improve comfort and quality of life for patients and reduce distress for their families and nurses.
