New score may predict delirium after heart surgery

Summary

This study will test a simple score to predict which patients may develop confusion (delirium) after planned heart surgery. About 100 adults will be observed before, during, and up to 10 days after surgery. The goal is to better identify high-risk patients so that prevention can be improved.
