New hope for calming cancer Patients' distressing confusion

NCT ID NCT01949662

Summary

This study aims to find the best way to quickly calm severe agitation and confusion (delirium) in hospitalized patients with advanced cancer who are receiving comfort-focused care. Researchers are testing whether adding a single dose of the sedative lorazepam to the standard medication haloperidol works better than haloperidol alone. The goal is to help patients feel more comfortable and less distressed during a difficult time.
