Timing is everything: delayed PET scans may spot aggressive prostate cancer better
NCT ID NCT07531329
First seen Apr 17, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 1 time
Summary
This study looks at whether waiting 2-3 hours after injection before doing a PSMA PET scan can better find aggressive prostate cancer compared to the usual 1-hour wait. About 1000 men with suspected prostate cancer will get both scans, and results will be compared to biopsy findings. The goal is to improve diagnosis and possibly help some men avoid unnecessary biopsies.
