First seen Feb 28, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study looks at whether people with advanced heart failure who have a HeartMate3 heart pump can safely stop taking aspirin. The goal is to see if skipping aspirin reduces bleeding problems without increasing the risk of blood clots. About 128 participants who have had the pump for at least 3 months will be randomly assigned to take either a blood thinner alone or a blood thinner plus aspirin.
