New drug aims to cut deadly infections in patients on home IV nutrition

Summary
This study tests whether a drug called DefenCath can prevent serious bloodstream infections in adults who receive nutrition through a central line at home. About 200 participants will be randomly assigned to receive either DefenCath or a standard heparin solution as a catheter lock. The main goal is to see who stays infection-free for up to 12 months.
