Brain helmet vs. classic coil: new hope for Treatment-Resistant depression

NCT ID NCT04956016

Summary

This study compares two types of brain stimulation therapy for people with depression that hasn't responded to standard medications. Participants receive either classic repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) or a newer 'deep' TMS approach using a helmet-like coil. The goal is to see which method works better at reducing depression symptoms over 20 treatment sessions and three months of follow-up.
