First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study tests if deep brain stimulation (DBS) can help people with long-term muscle stiffness and movement problems after a stroke. Twelve adults who had a stroke 9-36 months ago will have a small device implanted to stimulate a specific brain area. They will try three different stimulation settings during rehab to see which works best for reducing spasticity and improving motor function.
