Heart scans could catch genetic heart disease early in relatives

NCT ID NCT04638621

First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated May 11, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study uses advanced heart MRI scans to look for the earliest signs of dilated cardiomyopathy (a weakened, enlarged heart) in close relatives of people who have the condition. Researchers will scan 650 family members to see if certain genetic changes are linked to early heart tissue changes. The goal is to better understand how the disease develops and improve early detection.
