Blood antibodies may predict heart failure risk after viral infection

NCT ID NCT06742008

First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study is looking at whether certain antibodies in the blood can help predict which patients with acute viral myocarditis (heart inflammation caused by a virus) will go on to develop dilated cardiomyopathy (a weakened, enlarged heart). Researchers will measure two specific antibodies in 300 patients and follow them over time to see who develops heart problems. The goal is to find a way to identify high-risk patients early so they can be monitored or treated more closely.
