First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This early-phase trial tests the safety of an oral drug called DC6001 in 76 healthy adults. Researchers will give single or multiple doses to see how the body handles the drug and if it causes side effects. This study does not involve people with Stargardt disease and is not designed to test if the drug works.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

Active substance

DC6001 tablet

What this could lead to

If safe and well-tolerated, this could pave the way for future studies testing DC6001 as a potential treatment for Stargardt disease.

What could go wrong

This is a very early Phase 1 trial in healthy volunteers, not patients. It only tests safety and drug levels, not whether the drug works for the disease. Many drugs fail at this stage.
